All students attending the school are to be in full uniform at all times, unless permission has been granted from the Principal to do otherwise. If students are out of uniform, they will be required to stay after school. This policy includes polo shirts being tucked in.
Stud earrings, a watch, a neat medal and/or cross are the only pieces of jewelry allowed. Girls are not allowed to wear any makeup. No hair extensions are allowed. Natural hair colors are acceptable. No extreme hair coloring is allowed e.g. rainbow colors. No heelys or sneakers with wheels are allowed on school property.
On days when students are 'out of uniform', students at St. Johns's are expected to dress in a manner that is appropriate for a school environment. Students should wear clothing that covers their midriffs. Pants should not be cut too low and boxers should not be showing. All shirts should have at least a 3" shoulder strap. Clothes with inappropriate words, symbols or gestures are unacceptable. Students are not to wear short shorts/shorts or "pajama" pants.
Parents should enforce the dress code at home. The Principal has the authority to make judgements on a case-by-case basis about the appropriateness of clothing for the school setting. Any child that does not follow these guidelines will be asked to wear a large St. John's gym tee shirt over the offending clothing.
